Branding & Web Design
PracticeVision is a comprehensivesuite of healthcare management tools designed by a well-respected Practice and Revenue Cycle Management company with over 25 years of experience in the Healthcare and IT industries. The objective of the project was to create a brand identity that communicates technological strength as well as confidence.
The logo icon is athree-dimensional cube that is also perceived as a shield in two-dimensions. I took inspiration from the meaning of a “shield” which often makes references to “protection” and is a theme I believe compliments their product line andhistory.
The web design’s aim is to besimple, user friendly, and uniformly branded. One of my major objectives was to design custom navigation icons on the home page with the goal of introducing site visitors to PracticeVision’s product suite as soon as they arrive at the homepage.

Photography Website Design
Dustin Chambers, an established photographer, videographer, and blogger wanted to develop a multi-faceted website to connect with his audience. Dustin’s goals were two part, to create a website to deliver multiple types of content including photos, video, and texts as well as to produce a design that compliments his photo journalistic style. The solution to his content management and delivery was to implement a WordPress CMS including a custom photo portfolio, video clips using Vimeo, and a blogging component with custom navigation. For the design, I updated Dustin’s logo with a Futura type face and created a clean, symetric, and subtly styled interface to ensure the user’s focus on Dustin’s content.

sfjapantown.org announced a call for entry for banner designs to be displayed in their neighborhood’s street lights. Below are the two designs I proposed for the committee to consider. In the wake of last month’s devastating earthquake and tsunami, where hundreds and thousands of people were affected, my heart went out to every single souls in the nation of Japan. My theme was two simple designs that not only respond to the difficulties the nation and people are facing, but also provide my own personal relief effort in a creative way.
“ケア” is the vocabulary translated to “Care” in Japanese. This design embraces a vibrantly-shinning heart that consists of multi-colored fragments. Each fragment is puzzled to create a symbol of heart, this resembles a sense of coherence despite the uncertainty that the Japanese community is confronting. Each segments is bond together one way or another, even though they may look random by appearance. The use of color is the highlight, I aim to utilize an array of colors that represent warmth, support, encouragement, and love. There isn’t a single color that can capture all attribute better than a spectrum of colors.
“光明” is another vocabulary translated to “Glory” and “right future” in Japanese. By illustrating an origami crane takes off high in the sky and dovetailing a rainbow filled with a thousand of cranes, my message is “Glorifying tasks. Well accomplished.” A bright and rightful future is on its way to the Japanese. Origami crane is a very traditional and holy creature. According to an ancient Japanese legend, anyone who folds a thousand origami cranes will be granted a wish by a crane. My personal hope is that this banner will be hang to remind the San Francisco Japanese community to make their wishes to support their friends and families overseas.
